We invite applications for a motivated and approachable individual to join our small team providing administrative support for the School’s research activity.
This role will offer you a broad range of research administration experience as well as specific training that will be an excellent foundation for a longer-term career in research administration at the University.
Reporting to the School’s Research Manager, you will work as part of the Research Office team within Faculty Services located at the School’s Park End Street site and provide an essential range of administrative support for faculty, researchers and staff, working closely with colleagues in other departmental teams and in the wider university.
You will need to have an understanding of, or interest in, research administration, along with a ‘can do’ attitude, enjoy a varied workload and interactions with a range of professional and academic staff, and you will need to be adaptable in managing time sensitive work alongside longer term projects.
To be considered for this role you will need to have highly developed IT skills and the ability to use a broad range of computerised systems and data sources to support improved communications, information and data dissemination, and proposal tracking.
You will need to have excellent numerical/financial skills and the ability to manipulate and present data using spreadsheets along with a keen attention to detail; competence in drafting, proofing, formatting and accuracy of information in relation to both documents and office processes.
You will need to demonstrate proven communication and interpersonal skills that relate to working collaboratively with staff at all levels and as part of a small team, along with evidence of tact and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
