Integrated within a busy, multidisciplinary UKCRC registered clinical trials unit, the successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Trial Manager and as part of the trial management team. Responsibilities will include all key tasks within the lifecycle of the trial, line management for a number of trial coordinators and developing awareness raising publicity materials for the trial, targeted to academic and non-academic audiences.
You will hold a degree in a medical science or have equivalent experience, have experience of working in clinical trial management or project management and the ability to apply your management skills, knowledge, and experience to achieve trial objectives. You will be highly IT literate and have excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

OPTIMISE2
A landmark randomised controlled trial examining the benefits and harms of deprescribing blood pressure lowering therapy in frail older adults. This trial will build on previous work by the team, recruiting over 3,000 participants over 2 years and providing definitive data on whether this approach should be used in routine clinical practice. The trial will use novel methods for identifying, recruiting and following up participants via electronic health records and its findings are likely to have a significant impact on the way blood pressure lowering treatment is prescribed to older adults around the world.
The successful candidate will work within CTU and the Hypertension Research Group.
The position is full time and funded by National Institute for Health Research Health Technology Assessment (NIHR HTA) programme, for 4 years and 9 months or until 30th April 2027, depending on start date, in the first instance.

A multi-centre clinical trial ATHENA (Amitriptyline for the prevention of post-herpetic neuralgia) is led by the University of Bristol. RESTED
This trial aims to provide clear evidence on whether improving sleep quality improves depression. Our research may lead to new ways of treating depression in the future, and provide important knowledge on how sleep and mental health are connected.
