We are seeking a highly motivated senior research nurse to join our Research Nurse, Midwifery & Support Team for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), part of the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford. Led by the CVM divisional lead nurse, Catherine Krasopoulos, the team comprises of highly skilled and experienced research professionals with clinical expertise in cardiovascular medicine. Our aim is to provide study participants with the very highest standard of care and professionalism so that research involvement is a safe, informed, and positive experience.
The role will involve a mix of managerial and clinical responsibilities. You will work alongside the CVM Divisional lead nurse and other senior nursing staff to assist in the management of the CVM nursing/research support team. In addition to this, you will support an exciting new commercially sponsored clinical trial called ‘Goldilox’. As a part of your clinical responsibilities, you will carry out research specific activities, including but not limited to; participant recruitment, informed consent, study management and co-ordination, research visit procedures, completion of accurate documentation and maintenance of trial master files.
You are required to be a registered nurse; entry on part 1 (adult) of the NMC register (PIN number and entry date to be stated within application) and be educated to degree level in relevant subject eg. Biological/Nursing Sciences with evidence of post registration experience in clinical research and of managing/leading a team. Clinical experience working in a cardiac clinical setting with evidence of a basic understanding of cardiac diseases would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment on a fixed term contract for 3 years funded and you will be based at Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR)/ CCRF Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
