About the Role
The School’s IT Department provides technology, services, skill and resources fitting for a business school operating in the top schools globally, as well as innovation and cutting-edge IT solutions to enhance the School’s competitive position across the spectrum of its work.
The scope of the Department covers a wide range of strategic and support functions, including IT governance and direction-setting, management and delivery of the institution’s IT development portfolio, Product Lifecycle and a spectrum of IT related services including Audio Visual, Web Development, Programme/Project Management, front line IT Help Desk and Infrastructure Support and Maintenance. The Department enables all those undertaking study at the School – from senior executives to postgraduate students, faculty and staff, to exploit the maximum value from digital information and technology, in order to deliver the School’s mission to be a world class business school community, embedded in a world class university, tackling world scale problems.
As a leading and influential member of the Service Delivery and Change Senior Management Team, you will provide hands on support and delivery of two main pillars in the team – the Project Team and Product Delivery Team which currently covers c200 products and applications including core and business critical products such as Salesforce, Office365, Canvas and Tableau. You will support the Director and CIO in leading the management, development and delivery of the School’s annual IT Development agenda, to ensure successful implementation to deliver business benefit. This will involve maintaining a budgeted, flexible and viable programme of projects, which aligns to the strategic goals, resources and budgets of the School and meets the School’s future needs. You will also drive the product portfolio, working with product owners across the School to ensure product roadmaps are in line with strategy and business needs and dovetail into the IT development budget.
This will include pro-actively building, prioritising and managing the IT Development Agenda by liaising with all stakeholders across the School, scoping out new development requests and assessing against a fully developed and accepted project assessment criteria to ensure all accepted projects are in alignment with the strategic direction of the School.
To be considered you will be able to demonstrate proven experience in delivering a successful programme of development activities within a complex, multi stakeholder organisation, experience in Product Ownership and Management in line with business strategy as well as experience in development and delivery methodologies. You will be a credible leader who is able to flex styles to build strong relationships with senior leaders, able to collaborate across the organisation and use varying techniques to facilitate change.
