We are seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Officer who will be responsible for the development and implementation of TABLE’s communication strategy. This is the ideal role for someone who has worked or has an interest in food sustainability or environmental policy and is able to support TABLE in our mission to create stronger dialogue among key stakeholders in the food sustainability debate.
TABLE is a new global platform focused on the future of food. It seeks to facilitate informed discussions about how the food system can become sustainable, resilient, just, and ultimately “good”. We impartially set out the evidence, assumptions, and values that people bring to food system debates.
You will design, develop and implement an effective communications and engagement strategy, aligned with the TABLE strategic vision, to increase our audience, reach, profile and impact at an international level among policymakers, NGOs, academics, the food industry and internally within our own institutions – with a particular focus on the Global South. You will promote our new and existing resources through relevant media channels, including blogs, press releases, social media, videos and graphics and organise events.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and a good broad knowledge of environmental sustainability, ideally with a focus on the intersections among food, environment and health. You will have a background in communications, with substantial experience in developing communications strategies to meet the needs of a variety of international stakeholders and of working across digital media, social channels, events and analytics in. You will be a strong collaborator, a creative thinker, a champion for inclusivity and have a commitment to sustainability goals.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write with balance and nuance in our TABLE ‘voice’ across a variety of different short formats and platforms are essential.
