The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. NDPH is also a key partner in The Oxford University Big Data Institute (BDI) which is a new interdisciplinary research centre aiming to develop, evaluate and deploy efficient methods for acquiring and analysing biomedical data at scale and for exploiting the opportunities arising from such studies.
Based in the BDI Building, you will work on the UK Biobank study, which is an open access resource involving half a million participants. As an Epidemiologist your key responsibilities will include study concept and design, statistical analysis of large scale data, writing peer reviewed publications and small scale project management.
To be considered you will have a higher degree (MSc/PhD) in epidemiology, statistics or a related subject and experience using large complex epidemiological datasets and SAS, R/S-Plus or Stata. Excellent communication and time management skills are also necessary for this role.
