<div>Key duties of the role include responding to enquiries, booking and rearranging meetings, assisting with events, leading on administrative duties for the staff induction and leavers programmes, preparing paperwork on behalf of colleagues, making travel arrangements, and general office administration.</div>

<div>This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract, initially for one year with the possibility to extend.</div>

<div>We have an exciting opportunity to join the Draper Group in the Department of Paediatrics as a Clinical Research Fellow.</div>
<div>You will focus the design, delivery and execution of clinical trials of malaria vaccines and human malaria challenge studies in Oxford and to provide support for trials at partner sites in Africa. This role will work closely with the clinical team, led by Prof. Angela Minassian, to lead on and maintain high quality in the design and conduct of these studies. The clinical team are based at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine, Churchill Hospital, and are fully integrated with the Draper Group laboratory research team based at the Department of Paediatrics and the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Building. This forms part of a new hub for infectious disease and immunology research in the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Building and Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. <div>You will provide clinical input into the design and execution of clinical trials, working closely with other team members and take responsibility for delivering designated clinical trials.  You will provide technical advice and training for research staff relevant to the implementation of the research and lead with regards to clinical governance in the monitoring and reporting of the research at study sites and to trial specific data safety monitoring boards.  You will provide medical oversight of trial participants and present results verbally or as written reports for both internal meetings and external collaborators</div>

<div><strong>About you</strong> </div>
<div>You will have an active GMC registration and must currently be qualified and licensed to practice medicine in the UK, you will also have experience within clinical medicine. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to confidently interact with a wide range of audiences including, volunteers, laboratory, and administrative staff, monitors and the broader research community.  Excellent verbal and written communications skills are also required for this role.  Previous laboratory or clinical trials experience relevant to malaria or infectious diseases or vaccine research and a knowledge of immunology are desirable.</div>

<div>The postholder will be managed by the Chief Investigator, Prof Katrina Pollock, Associate Director of People and Culture of the Oxford Vaccine Group, with the senior radiology team, Dr Rajat Chowdhury, Consultant Lead in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), and Dr Madhuchanda Bhattacharyya, Consultant Lead in Breast Radiology (OUH). You will work closely with the radiology research team, the Oxford Vaccine Group, and the Oxford Clinical Research Facility. You will also work closely with clinicians and researchers across the Network at the Universities of Newcastle, Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cambridge as well as University College London and the St George’s Vaccine Institute.</div>
