<div>This fellowship provides an outstanding opportunity to undertake high-impact clinical research within one of the UK’s leading academic interventional cardiology programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to a portfolio of investigator-led studies and international clinical trials focused on coronary intervention, reperfusion therapies, coronary physiology, and advanced intracoronary imaging.</div>

<div>The post has a strong emphasis on intravascular imaging, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), encompassing image acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and the development of novel imaging biomarkers. The successful applicant will play a key role in studies investigating plaque morphology, thrombus characterisation, coronary physiology, microvascular obstruction, and optimisation of percutaneous coronary intervention using state-of-the-art intracoronary imaging technologies. Opportunities will also exist to contribute to complementary multimodality imaging and translational cardiovascular research projects.</div>

<div>The Fellow will be based within the Acute Multidisciplinary Imaging and Interventional Centre (AMIIC), an internationally recognised centre for innovation in cardiovascular imaging, artificial intelligence, translational medicine, and complex coronary intervention. The post offers the opportunity to work alongside internationally recognised leaders in interventional cardiology, collaborating with imaging specialists, scientists and multidisciplinary research teams to translate novel technologies and therapeutic strategies into improvements in patient care.</div>

<div><strong>About you</strong></div>

<div>The successful Clinical Research Fellow will have relevant clinical experience in cardiology together with experience in clinical research and routine clinical audit. Excellent organisational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><strong>Previous experience in the analysis and interpretation of intracoronary imaging (particularly OCT and/or IVUS) is highly desirable</strong>, as the successful candidate will contribute to several imaging-intensive investigator-led studies and multicentre clinical trials where intravascular imaging forms a central component of the research programme. Experience in coronary physiology, image core laboratory activities, quantitative image analysis, or participation in interventional cardiology clinical trials would be an advantage.</div>

<div>This position is particularly suited to doctors approaching completion of specialist training in interventional cardiology who wish to gain advanced experience in translational cardiovascular research before taking up a substantive consultant appointment.</div>

<div>This is a full-time appointment on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford (OX3 9DU).</div>

<div>The post is available immediately on a permanent basis. It is offered at Grade 5. We may also appoint at Grade 4 as an underfill. This post is suited to someone with finance or financial administration experience. You may be looking to consolidate your skills or broaden your experience in a busy academic and research environment.</div>

<div>You will support the smooth running of financial administration in OCDEM. A key part of the role is ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately, promptly and in line with University procedures. You will work with departmental colleagues, suppliers and central University finance teams. You will help maintain accurate records, support compliance with University financial procedures and contribute to improvements in local finance processes.</div>

<div>The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking an experienced Imaging Data Scientist to support the delivery of a major phase II clinical trial through expert analysis of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging data within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), University of Oxford. CVM is renowned for excellence in translational and clinical cardiovascular research, delivering innovative studies that improve patient care and outcomes worldwide.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>As Imaging Data Scientist, you will be responsible for high-quality, reproducible quantitative and qualitative analysis of trial CMR scans, contributing directly to the trial's primary and secondary imaging endpoints. In addition to primary trial responsibilities, you will contribute to the wider CMR research and analysis activities at OCMR, supporting image quality assurance, methodology development and the training of junior analysts and trainees.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>This opportunity is particularly suited to candidates with extensive experience in CMR analysis and a strong background in imaging core lab operations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of accurate, audit-ready image analysis, familiarity with standardised CMR reporting frameworks, and the ability to work to tight timelines on regulated trial work. Previous cardiac MRI analysis experience and previous imaging core lab experience are strongly preferred.</div>

<div>Full training will be provided in specialist aspects of the role, including cardiac magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and other advanced techniques specific to the trial. Candidates do not need prior experience in spectroscopy to apply, but must demonstrate the analytical aptitude and willingness to develop expertise in these areas.</div>

<div>This is a full-time appointment on a fixed-term contract to 27 July 2029.
