<div><strong>Overview of the role:</strong></div>
<div>We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivatedBiomaterials Laboratory Technician to join Professor Dame Molly Stevens’s laboratory at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, University of Oxford. This is a varied and rewarding role that will be central to the effective operation of a world-leading interdisciplinary research laboratory. The postholder will support the day-to-day management of laboratory facilities, equipment, consumables, and Health &amp; Safety processes, while also providing administrative support to help ensure the smooth running of the research group.  The role will have a particular focus on supporting the biomaterials and biofabrication activities of the laboratory. Full training will be provided; however, experience of working in a laboratory environment and familiarity with biomaterials, biological and/or chemical techniques, and relevant Health &amp; Safety procedures would be advantageous.</div>

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative research environment, working closely with researchers across the University of Oxford and partner institutions to advance innovative approaches in disease modelling, regenerative medicine and translational biotechnology. The lab is strategically affiliated with both the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering within the Department of Engineering Science.</div>

<div><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></div>

<li>Serve as a key member of the Stevens Group professional services team, providing technical and administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the research group.</li>
<li>Manage laboratory infrastructure, including the organisation of laboratory spaces, equipment, consumables, and shared resources.</li>
<li>Maintain electronic laboratory inventory systems and coordinate the procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of laboratory supplies and equipment.</li>
<li>Manage purchasing processes for laboratory and office supplies, including raising purchase orders and card transactions, and liaise with senior team members regarding budgets and expenditure.</li>
<li>Provide technical support to research programmes as required, including assisting with routine laboratory procedures and experimental activities.</li>

<div><strong>Selection criteria:</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Educated to at least A-level or equivalent qualification in science.</li>
<li>Experience of working in a laboratory or research support environment.</li>
<li>Experience managing and auditing laboratory inventories.</li>
<li>Ability to identify and resolve practical laboratory and operational issues in a proactive and effective manner.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, with experience maintaining accurate sample and inventory records, ideally using laboratory inventory management platforms.</li>
<li>Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.</li>
<li>Good IT skills including Office, Teams, SharePoint, ELN, inventory software, and hardware (e.g. data storage, ancillary IT equipment).</li>

<div><strong>Overview of the role:</strong></div>
<div>We are seeking a postdoctoral research scientist in bioinformatics to join our research group. In this role, you will be responsible for responsibility for carrying out bioinformatic research for sympathetic neuroscience, and further develop analysis pipelines pioneered in the lab based on Topometry (3), to help integrate and expand our single cell atlases.  This post is available for 24 months.</div>

<div><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></div>
<div>•       Act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on technical aspects pertaining to core expertise in bioinformatics and Python, scientific protocols and experimental techniques</div>
<div>•       Be proactive on streaming bioinformatic workflows that sustain productivity and output</div>
<div>•       Learn and be fully independent on the existing laboratory workflows, such as transcriptomics analytical pipelines running on Python such as Topometry</div>
<div>•       Manage own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines</div>
<div>•       Adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols</div>
<div>•       Test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate</div>
<div>•       Develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to the PI</div>
<div>•       Collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles, in addition to leading their own first author publication</div>

<div>We are seeking a enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Associate Professor Lisa Heathers group. They will carry out research for a British Heart Foundation International Collaborative Partnership, focused on sex-specific heart-adipose communication driving metabolic dysfunction in diabetic cardiomyopathy (SHEA-META). The aim is to identify sex specific differences in the metabolic changes underpinning the development of diabetic heart disease, and the role of the menopause in female-specific metabolic dysfunction in diabetes. The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in metabolism, experience in animal models of disease with surgical expertise, a publication record and be a good team player. The post holder will use techniques including isolated heart perfusion, echocardiography, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy to investigate metabolism in models of type 2 diabetes and menopause. <strong>This post is available from 01st September 2026 until 31st August 2030.</strong></div>

<div><strong>Overview of the role:</strong></div>
<div>We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cell Biology to join Professor Dame Molly Stevens’s laboratory at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, University of Oxford. The postholder will develop novel cell biology-based experimental platforms, including 3D in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo models, for disease modelling and advanced therapeutic applications. They will investigate how cells interact with engineered microenvironments and biomaterials, generating fundamental biological insights to better understand human disease and enable the development of next-generation therapeutic strategies.</div>

<div>The Stevens Group (<a href="https://www.stevensgroup.org/">www.stevensgroup.org</a>) is internationally recognised for pioneering research in biomaterials and regenerative medicine. The laboratory brings together expertise across materials science, chemistry, biology, bioengineering and medicine to tackle major challenges in human health through highly interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative research environment, working closely with researchers across the University of Oxford and partner institutions to advance innovative approaches in disease modelling, regenerative medicine and translational biotechnology.</div>
<div>The lab is strategically affiliated with both the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering within the Department of Engineering Science.</div>

<div><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Develop and apply novel cell biology-based experimental platforms, including 3D in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo models, for disease modelling and advanced therapeutic applications.</li>
<li>Investigate cell–material interactions, including, cellular responses to physical, chemical and biological cues, mechanotransduction, and translate findings into the rational design of improved biomaterials, bioelectronic interfaces and therapeutic strategies.</li>
<li>Develop, optimise and implement experimental and characterisation protocols to gain mechanistic insights into cell behaviour, tissue development and cell–material interactions.</li>
<li>Provide scientific input and feedback from a cell biology perspective to support the design, interpretation and development of related projects, including biomaterials, bioelectronics and advanced therapeutic applications.</li>
<li>Undertake the associated data analysis and interpretation, ensuring validity and reliability of data at all times.</li>
<li>Support the operation and management of shared cell culture facilities, providing training, technical expertise and guidance to other laboratory users as required.</li>

<div><strong>Selection criteria:</strong></div>
<ul>
<li>Hold, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in cell biology, stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, biomedical sciences, or a closely related discipline.</li>
<li>Demonstrated in-depth understanding of cell biology, including cellular behaviour, phenotype, signalling, differentiation and responses to physical, chemical and biological cues.</li>
<li>Demonstrated expertise in human or animal-derived cell culture, including pluripotent stem cell culture where relevant, and the development or application of advanced biological model systems, such as 3D in vitro models, organoids, spheroids, engineered tissues, ex vivo systems and/or in vivo models.</li>
<li>Strong experience in cell biology and functional characterisation of cellular and tissue phenotypes.</li>
<li>Experience with a range of advanced characterisation techniques relevant to cell and tissue engineering, such as confocal microscopy, cell-based assays, histology and cryosectioning, transcriptomics or related methodologies.</li>
<li>Previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations, with a proven track record of first author publications in peer reviewed journals.</li>
