Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to make a leading contribution to a the EPSRC Morello-HAT project and the AppControl sister project, on Type-driven Digital Security by Design for mission-critical systems on chip, working with Prof. Wim Vanderbauwhede at the University of Glasgow (Principal Investigator) and project partners at Imperial College London and University of Essex.
These exciting projects aim to make embedded software for control systems for critical infrastructure more secure and reliable, for example power stations, water treatment, electricity substations and core internet systems.
The specific purpose of Morello-HAT is to create a High-level API and Tooling for the Arm Morello architecture, a prototype of an Arm system with CHERI-style hardware capabilities as developed by the University of Cambridge.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the writing and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 7 £36,382 - £40,927 per annum.
This position is full time and fixed term to 31st December 2024.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University’s relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court’s policies.
