The Centre for Genomic Research (www.liverpool.ac.uk/genomic-research/) is a leading facility for the application of genomic technologies and bioinformatic analyses. The CGR is involved in diverse projects, applying cutting-edge technologies to environmental, biomedical and comparative genomic research. The Sequence Production Manager will take overall responsibility for the routine running of the CGR laboratory, providing guidance and oversight to a team of laboratory-based staff within the CGR. The successful postholder will primarily be responsible for planning and oversight of next-generation sequencing making certain that the data produced by the CGR is of high quality as well as ensuring that the CGR stays informed of developments in next-generation sequencing and providing direction to the future development of the CGR. You should have a PhD in biological science (or related subject); a comprehensive understanding of high throughput sequencing and genomics; and experience of leading or managing a team in a science laboratory.
