Postdoctoral Associate in Brain Cancer Immunotherapy
Department : Institute of Pharmaceutical Science

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
 
Essential criteria 
  1. Hold a PhD degree in pharmacy, drug delivery, cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, material/chemical science or any other relevant field.
  2. Experience in nanoparticles formulations and nucleic acids research.
  3. Experience with working with animals.
  4. Experience in cell culture and biological assays (e.g. flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, WB, IHC)
  5. Experience in immunological assays.
  6. Successfully supervised MSc students.
  7. Present research findings clearly and comprehensively to others.
  8. Ability to administer and manage research project financially and on day-to-day basis.
 
Desirable criteria
  1. Hold personal Home Office licence.
  2. Previous postdoc experience.
  3. Experience in handling human tissue samples.
  4. Experience in surgical and/or tumour animal models.
  5. Experience in grants writing.
 *Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.
